View initiators

Unisphere host management includes the management of initiators and initiator groups. An initiator group is a container of one or more host initiators.

About this task

Each initiator group can contain up to 64 initiator addresses or 64 child IG names. Initiator groups cannot contain a mixture of host initiators and child IG names.

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Hosts > Initiators.
  3. Use the Initiators list view to view and manage initiators.

    The properties and controls that are displayed in the view vary depending on the storage system version and on how you arrived at this view.

    Initiator—World Wide Name (WWN), or iSCSI Qualified Name (IQN) ID of the initiator, or NVMe/TCP ID of the initiator.

    Dir:Port—Storage system director and port that is associated with the initiator, for example: FA-7E:1

    Alias—User-defined initiator name

    Logged In—Flag indicating if the initiator is logged into the fabric: Yes/No

    Protocol— Associated protocol

    On Fabric—Flag indicating if the initiator is on the fabric: Yes/No

    Port Flag Overrides—Flag indicating if the initiator has overridden any port flags: Yes/No

    Host—Host name associated with the initiator

    Host Groups—Number of host groups associated with the initiator

    Masking Views—Number of masking views associated with the initiator, including the masking views that are associated with any cascaded relationships.

    Host ID—Host ID for NQN initiator

    IP Address—IP address for the initiator

    To view additional details of the initiator, click An icon showing the letter i.

    Set Attributes— Set initiator attributes

    Set Host Flags— Set initiator port flags

    Rename Alias— Rename initiator aliases

    Replace Initiator— Replace initiators

    Remove From Login History— Remove initiator from login history
